Pin-outs for Telephone Wiring
For those of us that have to make telephone cords occasionally, but not often enough to remember the color codes, here's a cheat sheet.

Pin 1 of the connector is on the left when viewing the connector with the locking tab down and the end with the cable in it toward you.
USOC RJ11 uses pair 1 only in a 6-pin jack.
USOC RJ14 uses pairs 1 and 2 in a 6-pin jack.
USOC RJ25 uses pairs 1, 2, and 3 in a 6-pin jack.
USOC RJ61 uses pairs 1, 2, 3 and 4 in an 8-pin jack.
The 6-pin jacks are frequently, and incorrectly, referred to as RJ11 connectors. The 8-pin jacks are frequently, and also incorrectly, as RJ45 connectors.
